The first phase of Team Search for Prodigy Mestareiden Cup 2023 has started and continues until 19.3. There are limited number of spots for top junior teams in each category.

Every match will be played in top facilities in Kupittaa Ball Sports Hall. The official tournament Hotel Sokos Hotel Kupittaa and the tournament restaurant Restaurant Mauno Trivium are located within 400 meters of each other so moving around is easy and fast.

There has been many good foreign teams during Mestareiden Cup’s 17 year history. Now that the Covid-19 pandemic is behind us, we once again put our team search focus also outside Finland. We have already secured three Czech top junior teams as Sparta Prague participates in U19, U17 and U14 age categories.

Tournament system:

U19 and U17:

  • One group of 6 teams
  • Everyone plays against each other
  • Two best play a final
  • Playing time 3x15 minutes
  • Minimum five games
  • Two-day tournament
*The organiser has the right to grow the tournament to eight teams


U16, U15, U14 and U13:

  • Maximum 10 teams per age category
  • Two five team groups, four best in both groups proceed to quarter finals, last two play for 9th position
  • Playing time 3x15 minutes
  • Minimum five games
  • Three-day tournament

U12 and U11:

  • Maximum 10 teams per age category
  • Two five team groups, four best in both groups proceed to quarter finals, last two play for 9th position
  • Playing time 2x15 minutes
  • Minimum five games
  • Two-day tournament
  • U12 will be played in 5v5 format, U11 will be played in 4v4 format

Tournament fee:

500€ (three-day tournaments)
450€ (two-day tournaments)

Streaming:

All games will be streamed. The teams will get links to their own games directly after their games. Stay-at-home fans can buy live streams.

The tournament fee will be billed in late March / early April. By paying the tournament fee, you will guarantee your team’s place in the tournament. The tournament fee won’t be refunded.

Hotel reservations

Official tournament hotel is Sokos Hotel Kupittaa. Sokos Hotel Kupittaa is located about 500 meters from the Kupittaa Ball Sports Hall. However the teams are free to choose any hotel. More info about room prices

Cancelation policy:

Minimum teams / category:

Minimum amount of participants is 8 teams per age category (in U19 and U17 four teams). If there’s less teams a month before the tournament starts, the organiser contacts the participants and there will be discussions about possible adjustments in tournament system, discount from the tournament fee or cancelation of the tournament. No age group has ever been canceled.

Cancelation of individual tournament passes is flexible.
